User Permissions
Account Owners and Project Manager users have full access to create, configure and work in Connector projects. Due to their limitations, Requester users should not be added to Connector projects.
Types of Connectors
Smartling supports two types of connector integrations
Hosted Connectors
Hosted connectors are hosted on Smartling servers and have a similar experience in Smartling. They are connected and configured within Smartling. Once connected, all source content is automatically visible in Smartling. Translations are requested and managed within Smartling. Translations are automatically delivered to the connecting software once complete.

Non-hosted Connectors
Non-hosted connectors are plugins for software, UI hosted on a software external to the Smartling dashboard. They are connected and configured within the connecting software itself. Once connected, content is not automatically visible in Smartling and must be submitted manually. You submit content to Smartling from the connecting software. Translations are automatically delivered to the connecting software once complete.
