Account Owners and Project Managers can invite Requester users to the account, and configure access to Linguistic Assets and Jobs from the Permissions tab in the User's Detail page.
When inviting a Requester user to the account, the Account Owner or Project Manager must grant the Requester access to selected Projects.
By default, Requesters can:
- Only create Jobs in Projects that they are assigned to
- Only see Jobs that they have created
- Only submit Jobs for authorization by an Account Owner or Project Manager
Due to their limitations, Requester users should not be added to Connector, GDN, or API projects.
For a step-by-step guide on the default Requester user role, read The Requester User Guide.
Use Cases for Jobs Permissions
It's possible that you could have a team of users working together on a localization task, in a designated Project, that may not require access to the Smartling Account and Project Settings. However, there are some occasions where they need to access Jobs created by someone other than themselves.
It's possible that this team of users could also require the ability to create and authorize their own Jobs, so that input from an Account Owner or Project Manager is not required.
It's also possible that you have integrated Smartling via any Connector, so Job creation is mostly automated. However, there could be some occasions where you need a user to access the Jobs automatically created by an integration, but have restricted access to the Smartling Account and Project Settings.
If any of the above ring true, granted Requesters Permissions will help achieve those requirements.
Viewing Permissions
Account Owner and Project Managers can view the Requester's permissions:
- Go to Team > Users
- Click the Requester's user tile
If there are no specific permission set for the user, the user is set to default permissions.
For a breakdown of each user's default permissions, read User Permissions.
Types of Permissions
There are six types of permissions, only one applies to the Requester user role:
- Jobs: For Job management.
Other Permission types have no impact on the Requester and should be ignored.

If there is more than one permission listed in the permission type, you cannot remove some permissions listed. You will have to re-add desired permissions for that type.
