Notification Settings
Enable email notifications to help stay on top of content changes during the translation workflow process. Notification settings can be customized on a per-project basis.
There are 5 types of notifications:
Ensure no-reply@smartling.com is added to your list of accepted senders.
If you have received any of the following notifications and noticed the information in the email is different from what you're seeing in the platform, it could be due to any of the following features: SmartMatch behavior, Dynamic Workflows, or Notification timing.
Access the Notifications Configuration (New Experience)
- In a project, click your name in the upper-right corner > Edit Profile
- In the Profile tab, ensure Global Notification Preferences are enabled
- From here you can also set a daily limit for emails received as well as set up an alternative email address to receive notifications.
- Click the Notifications tab to view and manage all notifications
- You can choose to group the notifications list by Project or by Notification from the dropdown
- Select or unselect the checkboxes next to each notification you want to receive.
- For some notifications, you will have the option to receive the notification at regular intervals (approximately once every hour as needed) or just once a day.
Access the Notifications Configuration (Classic)
- Go to Projects Dashboard and select a project.
- At the top right of the page, click the dropdown arrow next to your name.
- Select Project Notifications.
- Choose which notifications to receive by toggling the ON/OFF button for each setting.
Notification Options
Depending on your role, you will see one or more of the following notification options:

New Job notification | Get notified when a new Job is created. | Agency Owner |
Job was rejected | Get notified with an Account Owner or Project Manager rejects the Job submitted | Requester |

Get notified with an Account Owner or Project Manager approves the Job submitted | Requester |
Job complete | Get notified when the Job is complete. This notification is sent to the user who created the Job, not necessarily the user who authorized the Job. For example, if a Requester creates a Job and submits it to an AO/PM to authorize, the Requester will receive this notification when the Job is complete. |

Get notified within minutes when a file can be downloaded, per language.
