The new and improved domain management experience in GDN projects Smartling is about to be rolled out. The enhanced interface gives you a better overview of your web domains that are integrated with the GDN. This article outlines what changes to expect, so you can continue to work in Smartling confidently.
The domain management page is an area of your GDN project that you may not have used very frequently, since it is where your Solution's Architect has implemented the GDN on your domains during onboarding. From this page, you can integrate the GDN on your source domain, set up localized domains, take your localized domains offline, and go live with your localized website.
The enhancements to the domain management experience makes it much easier for you to view and manage your localized domains, from Smartling.
What's New
Navigation
To access the new domain management page, click Account Settings > GDN Hub > Domain Management.
This is to replace the current GDN project > Settings > Domains. It's time to forget those clicks stored in muscle memory!
The GDN Hub
The GDN Hub is where you can access Domain Management and GDN Crawler settings for any project. There is also a link to take you directly to GDN documentation.
Messaging
The improved experience is a better communicator, giving you clearer messaging when an action is about to be taken or when a bigger update is in progress.
Links
The new experience makes it easier to jump back to the project summary page, so you can quickly check a translation Job's status. Additionally, a link is provided to the Settings page for that project so that other GDN-specific pages can be quickly accessed.
Each domain links directly to that page, so you can quickly check translations on your localized domain and crawl the site to ingest any new content for translation.
Filters
- Filter for domains in any of your GDN projects.
- Filter for localized domains by locale.
- Filter for source domains by status: enabled (default), disabled, or both.
Visibility
The new experience comes with greater visibility into the domain. You get an instant overview of each domain's state and environment.
The following information is provided about your source domains:
- Source domains: the source domain name which is linked. Click to open the domain in a new tab
- Localized domains: the number of localized domains for the source domain
- Environment type: the environment the source domain is in. Options include Production, Staging, Development, or Other.
- Domain status: whether the domain is enabled (live) or disabled (offline).
Click the downward arrow to expand more information about the localized domains, including:
- Localized domain: the localized domain name which is linked. Click to open the domain in a new tab
- Target locale: the localized locale
- Domain type: the configuration type; Subdomain, TLD/ccTLD, HTTP Header Value, Cookie Value, Folder
- Password protection: if password protection is on or off

- Additional info:
