When you first click into a new Glossary that you just created, only one language column will be displayed. This Glossary view can be customized to display a side-by-side table view of all languages that you would like to display.
View Configuration
To customize the columns in your Glossary view, click on the Manage Columns.
You can now choose which languages should be displayed in your Glossary view. These customizations are user-specific and won't affect how the Glossary is shown to your team members.
Focus Language
The Smartling Glossary is multi-directional with no fixed source language.
However, you can set a Focus Language to help you navigate and organize your Glossary.
To provide a focal point, the Focus language will appear as the first column in the Glossary (both in the Smartling dashboard and in an exported Glossary).
Most Smartling users find it helpful to use the source language of their Projects also as their Glossary Focus Language. Of course, the Focus Language can be changed at any time via the View Configuration.
Additional Language Columns
Furthermore, the View Configuration allows you to choose additional language columns. Please select all languages that you would like to display in a side-by-side view in your Glossary.
The order in which you select the additional languages here is the same order that will be displayed in your Glossary view.
The languages selected in the View Configuration influence the terms returned when using the Term and Variation Search. The search results will only include languages which are currently displayed in your Glossary View.
