This article is for IT & Networking Specialists using the Global Delivery Network.
If you need to redirect requests for certain URLs on your localized sites, it is recommended that you manage and serve the redirect on your source server. This will give you to most control and visibility over the redirect behavior, and allow you to manage it independently of Smartling. The Global Delivery Network (GDN) will simply pass through the redirect response to the client.
If you need to do language-specific redirects, you can check the X-Language-Locale header sent by the GDN to identify the language the client requested. See Smartling Headers for more information.
If you are unable to configure the required redirect on your source server, the redirect can be configured and served on the Smartling GDN using Advanced Integration Tool.
