Salesforce Commerce Cloud supports a wide variety of content assets, including HTML text, graphics, and video. You can use content assets to provide your customers non-product related information such as customer support pages, special sales, size charts, etc. Content assets (or content pages) are stored in libraries and folders for easy retrieval.
Accessing Content In Salesforce Commerce Cloud
In Business Manager of your Salesforce Commerce Cloud account, you can manage content pages by navigating to Merchant Tools > Content.
Only content pages accessible from Libraries, Library Folders and Content Assets can be translated by SFCC Connector.
Pages from the Page Designer section are not supported automatically; however, you can export the content from Salesforce and manually upload to Smartling for translation.
You can find all libraries, library folders and library content pages defined by your organization in the Libraries page. Alternatively, you can find library folders, and their content pages, in the Library Folders page. Similarly, you can find all library pages of the selected site from the Content Assets page.
Viewing Libraries in Salesforce Commerce Cloud
As mentioned above, the Libraries page displays the list of all your libraries.
You can see private and shared libraries there. Libraries of the type Private are owned by a site, and can only be used by that site. Private libraries cannot be deleted by a user
Libraries of the type Shared are owned by the organization, and can be shared by multiple sites. Shared libraries can be deleted by a user.
Content pages from both private and shared libraries can be translated by SFCC Connector. Private libraries are integrated automatically. To integrate a shared library, input the shared library ID and name in the SFCC project settings.
Accessing Content In Smartling
Once you have connected your Google account and configured Salesforce Commerce Cloud folders, you will find Salesforce Commerce Cloud content in the Salesforce Commerce Cloud tab in your Smartling project.
Here, you can manage the translation process by viewing assets for translation, initiating translation, and monitoring translation status. Each content type has a unique icon and are managed separately from within the Smartling platform, allowing greater visibility and control over the translation management of each.
Navigating the Salesforce Commerce Cloud File List
The File List will include the following columns:
- Title: the title of the file or folder in Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Product Type: the file type as listed in Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Smartling Status: the file's translation status in Smartling.

When Library Pages or Categories are the filtered content type, you can find a breadcrumb of your Salesforce Commerce Cloud folder navigation above the file list. The breadcrumb is a representation of their current position in the Salesforce Commerce Cloud hierarchy and structure for content. This breadcrumb will update as you navigate within the structure.
