The Smartling Sketch plugin allows you to submit content and context directly from Sketch to Smartling for translation, and retrieve the content once it's complete.
Please note that this plugin is a paid product. For pricing information, please reach out to your Smartling Customer Success Manager.
We recommend using the latest version of Sketch, as the Smartling Sketch Plugin may not be compatible with older versions.
Create a Files Project in Smartling
Log into Smartling
Installing the Smartling Sketch Plugin
To install the Smartling Sketch Plugin:
Download the Smartling Sketch Plugin from our Downloads page or the Sketch Plugins Page.
Unzip the file archive, then double-click on the smartilng.sketchplugin file.
Once installed, a confirmation message will appear;
Accessing the Smartling Sketch Plugin
To access the Smartling Sketch plugin and all its functionality;
Click the Plugins menu > Smartling
Troubleshooting (Mac)
When you're about to get started with Sketch, there is nothing worse than an annoying pop-up error, such as this;
macOS (version 10 - X)
To rectify this, simply go to your Mac System Preferences > Security & Privacy > click "Allow Anyway" beside the Sketch flag.
macOS (version 11 - Big Sur)
To rectify this, simply go to your Mac System Preferences > General > click "Open Anyway" beside the Sketch flag.
Updating the Smartling Sketch Plugin
To ensure you are using the most up to date version of the Smartling Sketch plugin, go to Plugins > Manage Plugins. If your Smartling Sketch plugin requires an update, you will see the update flag. Click Update to update the plugin to the current version.
