Akeneo is a Product Information Management (PIM) software that centralizes product and marketing data for use across multiple channels.
Smartling’s Akeneo Connector helps users communicate with their global audience by automatically syncing product information from Akeneo to Smartling, allowing you to authorize this content for translation from within the Smartling platform. Translations are automatically sent back to Akeneo once complete.
Supported Content Types
Smartling’s Akeneo Connector currently ingests the following file types from Akeneo:
-
Products (base and variants)
-
Product models
- Categories
Tip: Dynamic Visual Context is automatically supported. This is not a preview of the content as seen in Akeneo, but rather a pseudo-context of the copy.
Limitations
Smartling’s Akeneo Connector does not ingest the following content types:
-
Related assets within a content type (e.g. Categories)
-
Attribute groups
-
Attribute labels
-
Attribute options
-
Category label
-
Entities
-
Measurement family labels

Smartling Status
Completed: Translations were successfully delivered from Smartling to Akeneo.
Failed: The file submission failed, or the translation delivery failed. A number of reasons can result in a failed status, but some of the most common are due to invalid regex causing placeholder issues in the file.
In Progress: The file has been successfully sent to Smartling from Akeneo, and the translation process has commenced but is not yet completed. If there is a case where translations are complete, but a network issue occurs, the translations will remain in progress until the Akeneo Connector delivers the translations to Akeneo on a successful retry.
Draft: The file is in the process of being sent for a new translation request. For example, if changes were made to the source content and your Akeneo Connector is configured to send the new content automatically for translation. The file could be sitting in submission queue or sitting in Awaiting Authorization
Not Translated: The file has never been submitted for translation.
Language Filter
Filter by the dropdown list of target languages configured in Smartling for the Akeneo project.
