During implementation, an Admin user in your GitHub Organization authenticated Smartling in GitHub.
You may need to change the authentication user for any one of the following reasons:
- They are no longer part of your GitHub Organization (deleted)
- Their permissions have changed (no longer an Admin)
- Your organization's authentication mechanisms have been enhanced (e.g. SAML added)
- You want to change the authentication user to a dedicated user email, e.g., smartling@yourbusiness.com
To do so, you will need to revoke the original authentication user and reauthorize the connector as the new user.
How to revoke a GitHub user
- Log out of GitHub
- Log in to GitHub using the user you wish to use for the integration
- As always, this user must have Admin
- In GitHub, go to User Settings > Applications > Authorized OAuth Apps > Smartling GitHub Connector
- Click Revoke
- Log in to Smartling
- The user email you log in to Smartling with does not have to be the same email address as the one logged into GitHub
- Click Settings > GitHub Connector
- You will see the follow flag confirming user access has been revoked in GitHub and you need to reauthorize the connector
- Click Re-authorize and grant full access to authorize Smartling in GitHub
