Translators, Editors, and Reviewers

Updates made to the Jobs Dashboard

The Jobs Dashboard is, just as before, the one single place for you to monitor all the Jobs you have access to. This is the first step of a multi-phased project that will include many new features!

The majority of the changes in this phase were technical and should not affect your interaction with the tool. However, there are a few changes we did want to point out!

If you experience any bugs, please reach out to support@smartling.com to assist.

Updates made to the Jobs Dashboard for Translators

  • We have consolidated the Job name, Job number, project name, and account name into the same column.
  • The issues counter and Job attachments are below the Job name.
  • The Progress column displays the step you are working on, the percentage of saved translated, and language associated if you hover over.
  • The Jobs dashboard is now grouped by Job rather than task. This means that if you are assigned to multiple workflow steps/locales for one Job, they will appear grouped together rather than on their own row.
  • The step you have access to is displayed in the Progress column. Purple bars represent Translation and orange represents Editing. Please note that if you hover over the bar, you’ll be able to see the specified locale and specific step name.

Work Not in a Job

We have moved the work not in a Job tab to a dialog that you can access by clicking on the button above your Jobs list. If you don’t have any work outside of Jobs, then you won’t be able to access the dialog.

  • Click the link to tasks not in a Job

  • View/Action the tasks not in a Job that are detailed in the dialog

Important Notes

  • Reassignment is not yet possible in this dialog. When you select save, you will not be able to edit the assignment from the dialog. You can still assign and unassign from the List View as before.
  • You may choose to only assign the first step of the workflow and leave the next step blank. However, this dialog will not appear again until the content has reached the next step of the workflow.
    • For example, if you only save the assignment for the translation step, you will only be able to assign the editing step when the content has reached the editing step.
