Create a Style Guide
This article is for Account Owners and Project Managers who are using one of the following self-service plans: Essential, Basic, Pro, or Business.
It's important to create a style guide. A style guide is a collection of rules about your preferences for content formatting, punctuation, writing tone, etc. that you would like the Translator to adhere to when translating your content. This serves as a way to ensure that your users and customers have a consistent experience across all languages.
We recommend creating your style guide before placing your first order, but if you are pressed for time you can place the order first and then fill out the style guide.
To create a style guide:
- Go to Assets > Style Guides. Your style guide will then automatically be associated with a linguistic package by Smartling.
- See Style Guides for more information.
Clicking on the Smartling logo returns you to the Account Dashboard. From there, you can access your project by clicking on the project name.
In our self-service plans we restrict the account to one set of linguistic assets. One style guide will apply to all your projects and all languages. You can update your style guide at any time. For more advanced style guide functionality contact Smartling Sales to inquire about the Enterprise edition.
