Submitting & Retrieving Content

Yext

This article is for Account Owners and Project Managers.

The Smartling Yext connector allows you to translate Yext content in Smartling. Translations are requested from within Yext, and translated content is automatically sent back to your Yext instance.

The connector supports translation of locations, menus, and products.

If you are using a Smartling Essential, Business, or Pro plan, see this section.

For Enterprise Accounts

Request Translations

Once you've linked your Yext account, you can begin submitting content for translation to Smartling.

  1. From within your Smartling Yext Project, click Yext > Yext Content.
  2. Toggle between Location, Menu, or Product content using the buttons in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to locate the content you want to translate.
  3. Once in your desired Yext content area, select the items you want to translate. Select individual items using the checkbox next to the item name. Select all items from the content area by using the checkbox next to Request Translations.
  4. Click Request Translation.
  5. Choose the languages you'd like to translate to or use the Select All checkbox to translate to all languages available in your project.
  6. Click Request Translation.

The content will be authorized into the Default Workflow for each selected language.

Check Status of Translations

Status of your Yext translation requests can be tracked in the Translation Progress tab.

  1. From within your Smartling Yext Project, click Yext > Yext Progress.
  2. Translation completion is indicated as a percent in the Percent column next to each article.

Download Translations

Once translations are completed for a given asset, the translations are automatically sent to your Yext instance every 3-hours.

To initiate a manual download of translated content to Yext:

  1. From within your Smartling Yext Project, click on Yext > Yext Progress.
  2. Select individual items using the checkbox next to the item name. Select all items from the list by using the checkbox next to the Title field.
  3. Click Export to Yext.

For Essential, Business, or Pro Accounts

Request Translations

Once you've linked your Yext account, you can begin submitting content for translation to Smartling.

  1. From within your Smartling Yext Project, click on Yext > Yext Content.
  2. Toggle between Location, Menu, or Product content using the buttons in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to locate the content you want to translate.
  3. Once in your desired Yext content area, select the items you want to translate. Select individual items using the checkbox next to the item name. Select all items from the content area by using the checkbox next to Request Translations.
  4. Click Request Translation.
  5. Choose the languages you'd like to translate to or use the Select All checkbox to translate to all languages available in your project.
  6. Click Request Translation.
  7. You'll see the name of the file that's ready to be sent for translation. Click Next.
  8. Review your Job Order Summary, then click Continue to Payment.
  9. Enter your credit card details to make your purchase and click Purchase Now.

There is a minimum charge of $10.00 to complete translation orders for Yext content. If your order is less than $10.00, your credit card will be charged the minimum order of $10.00.
