Categorize Content with Tags

This article is for Account Owners and Project Managers.

As a content owner, you may want to categorize subsets of your content in a Project for quick and easy filtering in the future. For example, you may want to easily identify key SEO strings that are frequently audited.

Tag Strings (New Experience)

To apply tags to strings:

  1. In a project, click the Strings tab. 
  2. Select the strings to which you want to add tags.
  3. Click Actions and select Edit Tags
  4. Under Add Tags, enter the tag (127 character limit). 
  5. Click Add

Tag Strings (Classic)

To apply tags to strings:

  1. Go to Projects (select a project) > Content > Translations.
  2. Select the strings for which you wish to add tags.
  3. Click Actions > Add Tags. The Add Tag to Strings dialog box will appear.
  4. Enter the tag (127 character limit).
  5. Click Submit or Cancel to exit.

Your tag will appear as a blue arrow below the string you tagged.

Filter Tagged Content (New Experience)

Once tags have been applied to your strings, you can use the Tag filter to quickly locate the content in the List View. To filter on tags:

  1. In a project, click the Strings tab. 
  2. With the Tags filter, select the tags to search for. 

Filter Tagged Content (Classic)

Once tags have been applied to your strings, you can use the Tag filter to quickly locate the content in the List View. To filter on tags:

  1. Go to Projects (select a project) > Content > Translations.
  2. In the search field, click the drop down arrow and click the Search by Tag drop down arrow.
  3. Select the tag.
  4. Click the magnifying glass icon next to perform a search.

Use the Actions menu to apply different actions to a set of strings you have categorized with tags.

Remove Tags (New Experience)

To remove tags from strings:

  1. In a project, click the Strings tab. 
  2. Select the string from which you want to remove tags.
  3. Click Actions and select Edit Tags
  4. Under Remove Tags, select the tags to remove and clear them. 
  5. Click Remove

Remove Tags (Classic)

To remove tags from strings:

  1. Go to Projects (select a project) > Content > Translations.
  2. Select the string(s) for which you wish to remove tags.
  3. Click Actions > Remove Tags. The Remove Tags from Strings dialog box will appear.
  4. Choose specific tags to remove by typing tag names in the Choose specific tags to remove from selected strings field or remove all tags by clicking on Clear all tags from selected strings.
  5. Click Remove or Cancel to exit.
